IPTVever – IPTV Subscription for People Who Have Switched Before

Adding a Second Playlist to TiViMate the Right Way

TiViMate is the best place on any platform to change provider, because holding several playlists is a first-class feature rather than a workaround: the old and the new appear in the same guide grid and you switch between them in two clicks. One thing to know before planning around it — multiple playlists is a Premium feature. The free tier holds one, so a genuine side-by-side comparison needs the seven-day trial or the licence. It remains Android only and always has been.

What to have ready

  • An Android TV, Google TV, Firestick or Android box
  • Your new IPTVever credentials
  • TiViMate Premium, or its seven-day trial, to hold two playlists at once

Still on your old provider? Run a 24-hour test line beside it — nothing needs cancelling first — or look at what the plans cost.

The move, one step at a time

  1. Check whether you have Premium

Open Settings and look for Playlists. If you can add a second, you have Premium or are inside the trial. If not, start the seven-day trial now — it is free, it is precisely long enough for this, and it turns the whole exercise from a leap into a comparison. This is the one prerequisite that catches people out and it is better discovered now than at the moment you need it.

    Get credentials to move with

  2. Add a playlist, do not edit one

Settings, then Playlists, then Add playlist, then Xtream Codes login. Enter the server address, username and password and press Next. It will not ask for an M3U and does not need one. Leave your existing playlist exactly where it is; the aim is two entries, not one replaced entry.

  3. Name it so you can tell them apart

Give it a name you will recognise instantly in a menu, because you are about to switch between them repeatedly during a match and "Playlist 2" will not help. It asks which categories to include; take everything for now, since the point of the next few days is to find out what is actually there.

  4. Set both playlists to the same guide refresh

Under Settings, TV guide, set the refresh to every twelve hours. Do it for both, because comparing a freshly refreshed guide against a stale one tells you about refresh timing rather than about either provider. The guide source travels with the Xtream login, so there is no separate EPG URL to paste anywhere.

  5. Compare inside the guide, during a fixture

This is where TiViMate earns its reputation. Switch playlists from the menu, open the same channel, and watch. Then switch back. Doing this three or four times across an evening, on channels you actually care about, produces a far more reliable judgement than any amount of reading — and it is the test nobody offered you the last time you bought.

  6. Rebuild the layout on whichever wins

Reorder channels, group your regulars, set the guide to open on favourites, and decide whether the channel list appears over the video or beside it. Twenty minutes here produces something better than most cable interfaces. Do it on the winner only; there is no sense investing that time in a playlist you are about to delete.

  7. Then remove the old playlist

From Settings, Playlists. Do it once you are genuinely satisfied and not before — and if the old provider's term still has weeks left, there is no harm at all in leaving both in place until it lapses on its own. You have already paid for it.

If something does not behave

The playlist could not be loaded

Check the server address carries its port and that the line is active. Then retype the password by hand rather than pasting, because text copied out of a chat very often brings an invisible space. Those two account for nearly every appearance of this message on a new playlist.

The guide says no information on the new playlist only

Force a refresh from Settings, TV guide, Update now, then restart the app. A first load across a large channel list also simply needs longer than people give it. If it persists on one provider and not the other, that is a genuine difference in what they maintain, and worth weighing in the comparison.

Premium will not activate on the television

It is not bought there. Install TiViMate Companion on an Android phone, sign in with the same Google account, and purchase inside that app. The licence then appears on the television by itself. This is the single most common confusion with TiViMate and it is entirely the developer's design, nothing to do with any subscription.

Channel numbers do not match the old provider

They will not, and there is no fixing it automatically. TiViMate lets you renumber in the channel editor. It takes a while across a long list and is worth doing only for the thirty you actually use — which is a useful exercise in itself, since it tends to reveal how few channels you were really watching.

Other players that take the same credentials

Try it on your TiViMate without cancelling anything

A test line runs beside whatever you are paying for now, so you can compare the same channels on the same hardware on the same evening. Plans open at $15 a month for the full 25,000+ line-up.

What people ask when moving a TiViMate

Do I need Premium just to switch provider?

Only if you want both lines at once, which we would recommend. The seven-day trial covers a comparison comfortably and costs nothing. If you would rather not, you can replace the playlist outright — just save your old credentials first so the decision is reversible.

What does Premium cost?

About $9.99 a year, or a one-off lifetime licence between $34 and $38 depending on region. It is bought in TiViMate Companion on a phone rather than on the television, and there is a seven-day trial. Recording, multi-view and multiple playlists are what it adds.

Does it work with IPTVever?

Yes, natively. Lines are issued as standard Xtream Codes logins, exactly what TiViMate expects, so the guide, catch-up and on-demand sections populate without extra configuration. Add playlist, then Xtream Codes login, and nothing else is required.

Can I export my setup before I change anything?

Yes, and it is worth doing. TiViMate exports its configuration from the settings and imports it elsewhere, which saves rebuilding groups and channel order by hand. Do the export before you start changing things rather than after you have broken something.

Does the lifetime licence really last forever?

It is a one-off purchase from the developer with no renewal and it has been honoured for years. It is still a promise from a small independent developer rather than a guarantee from a large company, which is the honest way to weigh thirty-five dollars against ten a year. Neither payment goes to us.

Can I move my TiViMate setup to a new device?

Yes. TiViMate exports its configuration from the settings and imports it elsewhere, which saves rebuilding groups and channel order by hand. Do the export before the old device goes anywhere. Premium follows your Google account separately, so signing in with the same account restores that half of it.

Can I use TiViMate on two televisions?

The app, yes. The Premium licence is tied to your Google account, so it follows you across devices signed in to that account. Your subscription is a separate limit again, counting simultaneous viewers. Three different limits from three different parties, which is confusing, and worth keeping straight before you buy anything.

Should I set the buffer higher after switching?

Under Settings, Playback, TiViMate lets you raise it. On a connection that dips occasionally a slightly larger buffer trades a second at channel change for a steadier picture. Try it before concluding a new line is worse than an old one, because the two providers may simply have been tested on different settings.
