The move, one step at a time
Work out which player is already there
If the app asked for a username and password when you set up your current provider, it is IPTV Smarters and it will hold both lines at once. If it showed a MAC address instead, it is Smart IPTV and it holds one. That single fact determines whether you can compare the two side by side or need a workaround, so settle it before going further.
Get into the LG Content Store, if you need it
From Home, open the LG Content Store, cross to Apps, and use the search box. Older webOS releases are slower about this than they should be, so give the store a few seconds before deciding the search has failed.
Have both sets of credentials in front of you
Entering a password with an LG Magic Remote is slow and the pointer makes mistyping easy, so open the WhatsApp message on a phone beside you and read the values across carefully. Have your current provider's details there too — not because you need them now, but because the moment you want them is the moment you have already overwritten something. Two minutes of preparation removes the commonest cause of a failed login on this platform, which is a mistyped character nobody can see.
Install a player, and ignore the imitations
Search IPTV Smarters Player, iPlayTV or GSE Smart IPTV. The first costs nothing; the others ask a single payment and are better laid out for it. Listings named TiviMato or Tivimax are unrelated to TiViMate, are not made by the same people, and are not worth money. TiViMate has no webOS build in existence and no listing claiming otherwise is genuine.
Add the new account without removing the old one
In Smarters, use Add User and pick Login with Xtream Codes API, then enter username, password and server address. In Smart IPTV, retrieve and save your current provider's M3U link first, because uploading ours to siptv.app/mylist against the television's MAC will displace it and there is no undo.
Let it restart and load
Once restarted, the set pulls the line-up with its own built-in guide. The coloured buttons on the LG remote handle favourites and the EPG, and they are genuinely what makes these televisions pleasant rather than merely functional. Learn which is which early; it pays back over the following months.
Compare on a real evening
Open the same ten channels on both lines during something live, at the hour you actually watch. If you are stuck on Smart IPTV and can only hold one, run our line on a phone or laptop at the same time as the television keeps the old one — the comparison still works, it is just less comfortable. What you are testing is whether the picture holds when everybody is watching, which is where the last one probably failed.
Then set the decoder and tidy up
A black screen with working sound is a decoder mismatch and the commonest report on webOS; switch the player to native or hardware decoding before blaming any provider. Once you have chosen, hide the categories you will never open and build a favourites group of thirty or forty. On a remote with no keyboard that is the difference between using the television and avoiding it.

The Content Store has none of these apps
LG rotates its catalogue by region and by webOS version. IPTV Smarters is the most widely stocked, so try that first. On a set older than 2016 there is nothing to be done within the television itself, and an external stick is the honest answer.
The app opens and closes immediately
Almost always a webOS version too old for the current build. Check for a television firmware update first. If the set is already current and it still will not stay open, install one of the alternatives rather than fighting it — they differ in quality but not in function.
The remote pointer makes the app unusable
Press the wheel on the Magic Remote to switch between pointer and directional modes. Most IPTV players are built for a directional pad and behave badly under a floating cursor, which reads as the app being broken when it is merely being driven the wrong way.

Which app is best on an LG?
IPTV Smarters is free, takes the Xtream login and carries a full guide, which makes it the sensible starting point and the only one of the two that holds two providers at once. Smart IPTV is leaner and very stable once configured, for a one-time fee to its developer. Both run on webOS 3.0 and later.
Does TiViMate run on LG?
No, and it never has. TiViMate is an Android application and webOS is not Android. Every similarly named listing on an LG store is a different product trading on the confusion. If TiViMate matters to you, that television needs an Android box or a Firestick attached.
Will a firmware update break my setup?
It can clear app data, which means re-entering three values in Smarters or re-uploading the playlist for Smart IPTV. Neither touches your subscription and neither costs anything. Keeping your credentials somewhere retrievable turns it into two minutes of mild irritation — the same habit that makes changing provider painless.
Can I use one subscription on the LG and a bedroom set?
Install it on as many as you like; the limit is on people watching simultaneously, not installations. On a single-viewer plan both sets can be signed in while only one plays. If two rooms regularly want different things at once, that is what the higher tiers are for, and switching is a good moment to get it right.
Can I record on an LG?
Not through these apps. Neither Smarters nor Smart IPTV on webOS offers recording, and the television's own recording function works on broadcast tuners rather than app playback. If recording matters, that set needs an Android box running TiViMate Premium, which is a bigger change than switching provider and worth separating from it.
