What to have ready
- A Fire TV Stick, any model, though a 4K one is worth having
- Your new IPTVever username, password and server address
- Your existing provider's details, if you want to keep both running
- A connection of 25 Mbps or better, wired if the router is distant
Still on your old provider? Run a 24-hour test line beside it — nothing needs cancelling first — or look at what the plans cost.
The move, one step at a time
Check whether you can skip ahead
Open the stick and look under Your Apps and Channels. If IPTV Smarters Pro or TiViMate is already there from your last provider, jump straight to the step about adding a second profile — there is nothing to install and nothing to enable, and you are four minutes from a comparison. Everything between here and there is for people setting up a Firestick from scratch, or replacing an app that a previous provider insisted you use.
Let the stick accept an outside install
Fire OS will not install anything that did not come from Amazon until you say so. Settings, then My Fire TV, then Developer Options, and turn on "Apps from Unknown Sources". Recent builds hide that entry until an app asks for it, so if the menu looks wrong, carry on anyway — it reappears further down as "Install unknown apps" listed against Downloader by name. This is where people abandon the job, almost always because the guide they were following was written two Fire OS versions ago.
Install Downloader
Back at the home screen, search for Downloader. The one you want is orange and published by AFTVnews; imitations sit alongside it in the results. Install it, open it once, and approve the storage permission. Skip that permission and the next step fails with a message that explains nothing, which is a poor use of ten minutes.
Fetch the player
In Downloader, select the address bar and enter the short link from your WhatsApp message, or the official Smarters APK address. Press Go. The installer opens by itself when the download finishes: Install, then Done, then Delete to clear the APK off the device. That last part is housekeeping, though a 16 GB stick fills faster than anyone expects.
Add us as a second profile, not a replacement
This is the step that matters and the reason this page exists. In IPTV Smarters, use Add User rather than editing the profile you already have. Name it something you will recognise — the brand name will do. Pick "Login with Xtream Codes API" and enter the username, password and server address exactly as sent, http:// included and the port on the end. Your old provider stays in the app, untouched, one tap away.
Compare the two on the same evening
Now do the thing you could not do before you bought last time. Open the same channel on each profile, one after the other, at the hour you actually watch and preferably during something live. Switch back and forth a few times. If one holds and the other breaks up, you have your answer in about ninety seconds and it is evidence rather than a claim. If both behave identically badly, the problem is your connection and changing provider will not cure it.
Then tidy up, and only then
Once you are satisfied, delete the old profile and rebuild your favourites on the new one. Hold the select button on a channel to add it. Thirty or forty favourites is what turns a list of 25,000+ into a television. If the picture judders at any point, go to Settings, then Player settings, and switch the decoder to hardware before concluding anything — on this device it is easily the commonest cause of a poor first impression, and it has nothing to do with whose line you are on.
If something does not behave
Downloader refuses to fetch the file
A character is almost certainly wrong in the address. Type it again slowly before concluding the link is dead, or ask us for the mirror. If that is not it, the unknown-sources permission has probably been granted globally but not to Downloader itself, which recent Fire OS versions treat as two separate decisions whatever older guides still say.
The new profile is rejected as invalid
The server field is responsible in the overwhelming majority of cases. It wants http:// at the front and the port at the end, shaped http://server:8080, with nothing after it. Type the password by hand too, since text copied from a chat routinely brings an invisible trailing space. Only once both have been entered manually is it worth suspecting the account.
Both profiles buffer, not just the new one
Then the line was never the problem. Switch to hardware decoding first. If the stick is on wifi and the router is far away, an ethernet adapter at about fifteen dollars settles it permanently. Where an internet provider throttles streaming at peak, a VPN on a nearby server restores the speed you already pay for. Moving to a third provider would have achieved nothing.
Working yesterday, dead today, nothing touched in between
Look at the expiry date first. A line that has simply run out is indistinguishable from a broken installation when you are sitting ten feet away from it. Failing that, wipe the application cache — Settings, then Applications, then Manage installed applications. The third candidate is an ageing APK on a stick whose Fire OS has moved on underneath it, cured by fetching a current build.

What people ask when moving a Firestick
Can I really keep both providers in the app at once?
Yes. IPTV Smarters holds multiple users and TiViMate holds multiple playlists, and switching between them takes a couple of clicks. This is how the move should be done: run both, compare, then delete the loser. Nobody should be cancelling a subscription on the strength of a website, which is presumably how the last one was bought.
Do I have to reinstall the player?
No, assuming it is a current build. Whatever you installed for the previous provider takes these credentials the same way — the account is a standard Xtream login rather than anything proprietary. If the old provider made you install their own branded app, that is worth noting: an app that only accepts one company's line is a lock, not a feature.
Will my favourites survive the move?
Favourites belong to the profile, so the ones you built on the old provider stay with it and disappear when you delete it. There is no way to copy them across. Budget ten minutes to rebuild your thirty regulars on the new profile, and do it while you still have the old list open to copy from.
Is the Fire TV Stick Lite good enough?
It runs the same software and sets up identically, but it outputs 1080p, so the 4K feeds never reach the screen. If your previous provider claimed 4K and it never looked like it, this is worth checking before you blame them — the stick may have been the limit all along. On a main television the 4K Max is worth the difference.
